The Leader in Enterprise Grade Appointment Scheduling

In 2007, Katherine Regnier wished to schedule an appointment with her massage therapist and found the process daunting. "I could never get a hold of my massage therapist. How come I can book a flight online but not book with a massage therapist?”

She created her company Coconut with the idea of making appointment scheduling easier. As her Saskatoon-based team evolved to 34 employees, (half in our downtown Toronto office) she realized that there was a need for scheduling software for large companies in the banking, telecommunication and retail spaces. She now counts London Drugs, TELUS, Jackson Hewitt, and Rogers as customers.

“In the past, our clients were using email and Outlook to schedule appointments,” Regnier shares. “These traditional methods do not offer a real-time experience that customers now demand. Not only that, but if we can predict appointment traffic, we can help optimized enterprise workforce flows. Appointments make an impact on the top line and bottom line.”

In addition to saving employees’ time while setting up meetings, there are the added benefits of decreasing people not showing up for the meetings by 23%. “More appointments means more connections and opportunity to serve the customer.” relates Regnier.

Jackson Hewitt, the second largest tax preparation company in the United States with over 6,300 locations, chose Coconut Software as its online scheduling software. “After reviewing 20+ solutions, we hand-selected Coconut. They deliver an easy to use, flexible, and retail focused platform. They were able to integrate with our existing systems, in a secure and compliant way. This was critical in selecting a vendor,” says Greg Donnells, previous vice-president of Enterprise Systems based out of Sarasota, Florida.

Coconut raised its first round of funding from San Francisco investors in 2016, and an additional $4.2M in 2017. Even with pressure to move Regnier and her team believe they can make it happen on home territory and are proud to be from Saskatchewan.  “There is a community here. I’m a big believer in getting mentorship outside of Saskatchewan and bringing it home. I don’t want to be the next Silicon Valley or Vancouver, I want form our own style here in Saskatchewan.”
