As the central innovation agency for the Government of Saskatchewan, Innovation Saskatchewan is responsible for implementing the province's innovation priorities and growing the technology sector. Innovation Saskatchewan develops policies and programs and conducts activities that assist in the implementation of research & development, science, and technology for the province. This includes development and operation of Saskatchewan’s research and technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.

 

The Opportunity

As a member of the Property Management team at Innovation Saskatchewan, the Property Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting our agency’s goals by providing excellent customer service for our tenants at the Saskatoon park.

Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, the Property Administrator will be responsible for administering specific property management and accounting activities for the Saskatoon buildings portfolio and supporting the team’s Property Managers. This involves developing a strong foundational knowledge of our park tenants, buildings and lease administration systems to ensure work processes are efficient and effective.

Primary Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to: 

  • Providing the Property Management team with commercial leasing and finance administration including, invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts monitoring and budgeting support
  • Coordinating tenant moves and communication in collaboration with multiple departments
  • Maintaining electronic and physical commercial property management data, including processing monthly billings and maintaining accurate buildings and tenants areas
  • Preparing reports used for analysis of operating costs, including identifying historic spending trends, forecast spending and year-to-date spending
  • Providing excellent customer service skills to the tenants in our Saskatoon park
  • Assisting Property Managers with tenant satisfaction and retention, including attending meetings, documenting tenant needs, identifying risks and coordinating signage
  • Supporting the Property Management admin team and providing reception coverage as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
 

What We Want from You

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply general accounting principles and practices
  • Strong aptitude for working with numbers
  • Drive to be innovative and creative in your work and be a problem solver
  • Ability to be a collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills who can also function independently with a high level of initiative
  • Exceptional communication skills and strong organizational techniques and skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain composure during high pressure situations
  • Demonstrates use of good judgement
  • Ability to produce high output while working towards multiple deadlines
  • Computer literacy and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience in Property Management Systems software (e.g., MRI, Yardi) preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience working as a receptionist or in an administrative role
  • Completion of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Commerce or Business Administration preferred
